Exuviance SkinRinse Bionic Tonic

If “never-ending skin issues” was in some sort of dictionary, I feel like my face would be right smack dab in the middle of the page it was on. From about middle school and onward, my skin has been through the ringer. I have extreme combination skin where my face is both oily and dry at the same time. I wish my skin would just stick to one issue! (…even though I do feel fortunate to have no had serious skin conditions). I have tried everything…from two rounds of Accutane, to just about every prescription topical cream and pill my dermatologist can prescribe, and several brands of face wash. I even resorted to tanning for awhile so my skin would dry out. I know, I know. I probably shouldn’t have done that but I was a little desperate and didn’t do it often. However, I do believe I have found a miracle product for my skin.

Exuviance SkinRinse Bionic Tonic has breathed new life into my skin. As soon as I received this product from Exuviance, I couldn’t wait to try it. I had heard about this product before on some other blogs, and I was excited to try it out for myself and add it into my nightly skin care routine.

In previous years, I relied more on makeup to make my skin look and feel perfect, but I realized that this isn’t necessarily the best route for me. Now I am focusing on spending more time taking care of my skin instead of a “quick fix” for it through makeup and such. Even though I still love and wear makeup, it definitely is a good feeling to know that my skin is getting more of the nutrients it needs and can look great on its own.

So, my first step of my nightly skin care routine is to completely clean all of the makeup and dirt off my face by using this micellar water by Simple on a cotton square. I love micellar water and now realize why models and many Europeans have been using it for years!

Then, it’s time for my new favorite part of my routine….my SkinRinse pads….

Pro Tip: The pads themselves have quite a bit of product on them, so I cut them in half to make the product last longer and to not have as much excess.

Using this product is super simple. I just wipe the pad all over my face and then rub in the extra product like the directions list.

It is hard to find words that describe how amazing this stuff feels. The best way to describe it is like swiping a glorious spa treatment all over my pores and loving every second of it. The green tea and cucumber are so cooling and really calm down my skin. It’s like having my own little spa in my bathroom, minus that major cost and I can get this treatment done in my pajamas. 😉

After I use this amazing product, I finish up my routine with my brightening serum and lotion.

The packaging of this product is pretty high quality. I especially like how there is an extra lid on it so I lessen my risk of being a dork and not putting the lid back on right and the pads drying out.

After using it the past week, I can already tell a difference in the appearance and health of my skin. It is incredibly smooth and the tone has really evened out. I have very little breakouts and my face just looks brighter as well! I posted this photo on my Instagram not too long ago and I can definitely see such a positive result from the nourishment of this product. From now on I will be sure to include this product in my nightly skin scare routine and I can’t wait to see how my skin looks and feels after a month or two of using it. Exuviance recommends this product for all different skin types, which I love because mine seems to change just about every single day!

Hope you have a great weekend! I am spending mine in Arizona and will hopefully be able to post some rad desert photos soon. Thanks again to Exuviance for sending me this amazing product to try!

november favorites.

Happy last day of November! I seriously cannot believe how fast autumn went by. The temperatures are dropping here and we have even had snow already! I love November, but I might like December even more. I’m not usually one to rush into the Christmas season because I love Halloween and Thanksgiving, but there are few things that get me as excited as I get for Christmastime! Now that November is ending, I’ve realized that I have found quite a few favorite things recently. Here are my favorites for November. (:

 Tea Tree Water by Lush

I am in love with this toner! Every night I spritz it on a cotton pad and apply it to my skin after I wash my face with Lush’s Coal Face. This formula really settles my skin down and truly cleans it. I have noticed a huge difference in my skin lately after using it!

Fat Lash Mascara by Merle Norman

Okay so I know I probably sound like a broken record when I tell people that I love Merle Norman cosmetics over and over again…but I’m obsessed.

I received this sample of Fat Lash in a bonus when I bought my foundation and it’s my new favorite mascara.

Merle Norman released it recently and I’m extremely impressed. No need to curl my lashes when I use it. It curls AND lengthens lashes. (:

Will definitely be buying again.

Twisted Peppermint Gentle Foaming Hand Soap by Bath & Body Works
I know, I know. This is definitely more of a December product, but I just couldn’t help but to use it the past couple of days. The packaging is adorable (I love anything with critters on it) and the scent is just the right amount of peppermint…not too overpowering!
Sticky Fingers Nail Polish by Urban Outfitters

Even though I have about a million burgundy nail polishes, this is my new favorite. I picked it up on sale at Urban Outfitters for .99, which is my kinda nail polish price! It’s the perfect combination of burgandy and fuscia.

Walking into the movie theater, I knew I would love this film. I love Jame Bond movies, but I especially love Daniel Craig as Bond. To me he is more realistic and more of a “tortured soul”, rather than a pretty boy. Even though Skyfall is still my favorite of the series, I still loved Spectre.

I have to admit, it’s pretty rare that I download many apps. I take so many photos that I usually just try to forget about apps to make room. However, a couple weeks ago I discovered a few favorite! It’s called Stylebook and it helps you organize and manage your closet. With this app, you can take photos of your wardrobe pieces and categorize them.

I’m still a bit rusty when it comes to getting the background out of the images, but the tool it has you use to photograph is fairly simple!

One aspect I love about this app is that you can track when and how many times you have worn an item. It calculates the price per usage based on how much the item was.  I love this feature because I can see how much I really wear things I buy and if it was worth the price tag or not.

It also helps you create outfit collages and plan outfits that you’re going to pack for a trip! Like I said before though, I’m still very new at this thing so I’ll get better at it, haha. I just love it when fashion and technology collide!

Let me know if you try any of these favorites of mine. (:

Have a wonderful week!

cake for lunch.

If there’s one thing that I simply can’t resist…it’s dessert and immersive experiences. What is an immersive experience you ask? In my opinion, they are any experiences that are themed with a strong sense of design that just completely submerged you into the place, time or just vision in general that the creators intended. These are places that you get completely lost in because your senses are being stimulated and you feel entranced. This is why I love theme parks and museums so much.

I have found place that does just this….and offers a killer red velvet cake…
The Cake Bake Shop. This little bakery is a force to be reckoned with. It’s desserts are sublime and the Parisian theme of their building is exquisite and extremely detailed. I have been here a few times with friends already, but took my family for lunch today. They serve actual lunch foods, however we opted for sweet treats…of course! I’ve had such a lovely Sunday with my family and I hope you all are having a great day as well. Hope you enjoy these snapshots!

My simple makeup look today. Naked 2 Basics palette & my YSL Opera Rose Rouge Volupte lipstick. (sorry for blurry quality on this one!)

American Rag jacket & Brass Plum scarf. Comfy, simple and chic is my favorite combo.

Their decor is already stunning, but the Christmas details make it extra magical!

Love this whimsical chandelier.

It is always so hard for me to decide what to order! My aunt ordered this caramel corn cake…yum!

My mom and I ended up splitting a piece of the birthday cake.

I used the flash so you could see the glitter on it!

Finally, I had to get some treats to go, of course.

new trench.

So. I finally purchased a trench coat. I’ve been dreaming of this moment ever since I saw the chicest women ever walking on the NYC sidewalks in their trenches like they were on catwalks, not pavement full of smoke and gum sticking onto their trendy sneakers. Trench coats scream, well, no, they whisper a casual elegance. I had never bought one before because I was waiting for the absolute perfect one. Well, I found the ONE (and yes, I’m talking about a trench coat, not a man). I discovered it at Banana Republic at an amazing outlet mall in Virginia. I scored such a good deal on it, so I simply could not resist.

I paired it with a new collared top from J. Crew and my favorite oxfords from Aldo the other day. I am in love.

hello there.

Greetings! Goodness…it has been quite some time since I have written a blog post. First off, thanks for checking out my blog! You’re awesome, you. I am going to be a bit rusty at this whole blogging thing as I haven’t done it for a couple of years.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Mandy and I am a 21-year-old budding museum & 3D professional. I will be graduating from my university this upcoming spring and couldn’t be more thrilled to be entering the realm of creative professionals. I love traveling the world (and the States), fashion, history, photography, adventuring with my friends and family, cats, and living a simplistic, well-designed life. This blog is going to be a creative outlet and will focus around those interests, but it won’t be limited to them. I am extremely excited to be blogging again because I finally realized that I need to make time for it! I’ve been learning that no matter how busy you get, it is imperative that you make time for the hobbies that you absolutely delight in. One of these for me, is blogging.

So, with that….welcome to Mandy’s Musings. I hope you enjoy your stay.
